Free Community Evenings for Abbott Districts

Community Evenings are exclusive events hosted throughout the year for all students and families from New Jersey’s 31 former Abbott Districts. Held from 5:30 – 9:00 pm, eligible guests can explore LSC’s general-admission exhibitions, see IMAX  and 3D films, engage in live demonstrations and hands-on activities, and learn about valuable community resources available to them through generous participation from local organizations—all at no cost. Click here to find out if your district is eligible.

Eligible Guests
Schools: Must be a public school (traditional or charter) in one of NJ’s 31 former Abbott districts.
Individuals: Must reside in, or attend a public school (traditional or charter) in, one of NJ’s 31 former Abbott districts.

Not Eligible?
If you or your family do not meet the above parameters, check our corporate membership list here to see if you are eligible for benefits during normal operating hours or here for free admission on the first Saturday of every month as a Bank of America cardholder through the Museums on Us program. If your school does not meet the above parameters, feel free to fill out an application here for a field trip through our Adopt-a-Class program.

Registration
Public schools: Registration is required for school-organized trips. To register, e-mail your school name, city, preferred date, number of students and chaperones, and contact information to lrose [at] lsc.org (please use your public school e-mail address for registration).
Individuals: Registration is not required. If your school isn’t providing transportation, follow these directions to travel to the center on your own. Liberty Science Center does not provide transportation. Please be sure to bring proper identification!

Acceptable Forms of Identification
ID is required, i.e. proof of residency in one of the 31 former Abbott districts. Acceptable forms of ID are driver’s license, state ID, school ID, report card, or progress report.

Tickets for Films
Tickets for films are available free on a first-come, first-served basis. Film tickets are available at the box office beginning at 5:30 pm on each Community Evening. Tickets cannot be reserved or picked up in advance. Theater tickets may be limited to one show per person. IMAX films run at 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00 pm. 3D films run at 5:45, 6:30, 7:15, and 8:00 pm.
